This new intimidating stadium that appears to be sold out to the gills, the opposition hasn't played there before, and neither have we in a competitive match. Bedding the side in is only a part of it, we need to bed the support in as well.
Going on some of the performances from the last 5 years or so it`ll be our lot that get intimidated by the stadium, and we`ll have to play there for half the season.

Opening league fixtures are as follows:
Leeds (a)
Brighton (h)
Wolves (a)
*TDD
Villa (h)
Liverpool (a)
West Ham (h)

On paper not the worst, but then you look back at our recent campaigns and suddenly every match is tough.

Over the past three seasons, it has taken us 6 or 7 games to pick up our first league victory. Typically it's mid or late September. Completely and utterly unacceptable.
In the last few seasons it was new players in on TDD and 3 games after to get match fit and bed in.

We need our transfer business to be done 3 games before we start the season if we want to start well.

It's not rocket science.

Last time we got off to a good start was under Benitez. That good start was probably the only reason we stayed up when it all went wrong like we all knew it would. Think he won 7 games and 4 or 5 was at the start of the season.

Considering all that fans have been through, new players, new stadium, early wins will be important for a good feel to the season. We've got to win 1 of the first 2.

Benitez came to sabotage us (in my opinion), now we have a manager who cares about us.
We will win our first home game, just like we had to win our last at Goodison.

So long as we start good, and then have a good middle, and finish good then it'll be a solid to good season. Throw in a hat trick every week and it'll be entertaining.
