Match Thread Accrington Stanley 1-1 Everton [Pre-Season 2025/26] - Tues 15th July 2025 - 7.45pm KO

Good runout overall, decent for a first friendly against a team that's a bit fitter by all accounts.

Love the "I don't hate him" energy some of you bring for Patterson - he has a good overall piece of play, good movement, decent overlap, shoots poorly and he should be turned to glue; Tim plays out a situation absolutely horrendous, misses the obvious pass to ego-ball shoot, shoots like he's just touching a ball for the first time - "nice try lad, decent".

Clarke has the showboating technique also, fun to watch.

Well that would be 2 goals to their 1..

Impressed by Heath and Clarke (only 16!) when they came on. Highlights what we really lack , pace and width!

There surely must be a right winger out there that fits the bill for what we desperately need.

Impressed by Armstrong - clearly a class act and might be needed this year. Iroegbunam has flashes of brilliance but gives the ball away too often -again centre midfield another area where we need to strengthen.

Decent run out in the rain, really hope our transfer business ramps up now.

Think Clarke is 17 now.

Heath, Clarke nice positives today in bad weather conditions. It played out as expected. Moyes tried out some of the young lads. Gave him a good look. Today was all about slowly ramping up to match day in a couple of weeks without sustaining injuries. No worries today.

Can't figure out Clarke, he's certainly direct but you're never quite sure whether he's in control or not of his limbs so a little like Beto
