What do you make of it in general? Considering buying one myself for running/cycling. Is it any better than a standard sports t-shirt?

Bought myself a standard version in the sale last season but can’t bring myself to wear it with the massive Stake logo on it.

Every "pro" version only has heat applied crests, logos, etc.
Adidas, Nike, Puma, … it‘s all the same.
The reason is that it reduces friction between the shirt and your skin which can lead to an uncomfortable feel while playing or even lead to bruises/scratched skin.
The pro version is exactly the shirt the players wear, so it‘s build for performance and definetely not for durability.

I bought the stake-less Pro top, the quality difference is less pronounced compared with last years 3rd kit pro, in material feel, but it is definitely lighter and thinner. No better than an aeroready Adidas top for example though.

Without having a non-pro version to compare the actual shirt materia I would suggest saving your money and getting a standard non-Stake version if they're still selling them (apparently the non-sponsored versions are limited). For all I know right now the only difference is thebadge and those stupid three vent holes on the neck. Since they make a mint off the material as it's basically just recycled plastic Coke bottles, I doubt the actual material is different so I can't see forking out for a pro version TBH. Hopefully somebody will correct me if I'm wrong but those are my opinions as of today after receiving it and going off stuff I've bought in the past. They're making money hand over fist on these things and personally, what they're charging for them, is ridiculous; value for money is very poor and that goes for every manufacturer and every version. Personally, I think the majority of crap that clubs put out is poor quality. It's all designed for maximum profit and nothing to do with giving the supporter a good product.

I tried on both.

The pro shirt is very light but feels very cheap. the ironed badges feel like they will fall off in a few washes. The players get a brand new shirt every game.

The ‘replica’ is a slightly thicker but still breathable material and feels like it will stand the test of time better with embroidered badges.

Visually they are identical unless you are really close up.

£80 for the replica is a disgrace, but that’s standard in premier league shirt sales now, but £115 for what the pro is, is criminal.
 

I think the only material difference is that the pro comes with like 12% Elastan to 88% Polyester while the replica is 100% Polyester.
Not worth spending the extra money since the replica material is still breathable and light enough to do any kinds of sports without having any problems. And it will last way longer.
 
think we can do better, all the kit leaks as well a couple of months before released. could of bought a Chinese copy of the kit before the actual kit was announced. bit strange that
