Had a really good game against us for Bournemouth when Docoure scored to keep us up. Moyes might have thought "the goalkeepers union" at the club needed freshening up and Travers is as good a backup keeper as we're likely to get, given that we have England's number one between the sticks.

A good signing imo, glad it's sorted early and the club can concentrate on other signings now.

I doubt it. My guess would be he's content to stay in a PL environment with the money, security, facilities etc that go with it rather than drop down a level and play more but without the benefits. It's all pretty normal as far as I can see, being a back up keeper is a pretty standard thing for people to do, I don't really understand why people are acting as if this would be different to any other situation. Freddie Woodman's just given up being a number 1 in the Championship to be number 3 at Liverpool. I very much doubt he thinks he's going to break into their first team.

Being a Premier League backup keeper is by far the best job that exists on this planet.
