He is the Chairman of both clubs. To that extent it doesn't matter whether he never attends any games, or goes to us on the Saturday and Rome Sunday.

Unless UEFA change their rules regarding persons with significant interest, then as the clubs are under the ownership of legally separate entities (Roundhouse Capital Holdings. & Romulus and Remus Investments LLC), there is no issue regarding European competition.
I'm not convinced of that argument Bri.

I've not checked but if any individual or individuals have significant shareholding in each entity ( club) then they can be said to have "decisive influence" according to the Palace judgment.

So if the same person or persons have shareholdings in both clubs then we would fall foul of the UEFA ruling.

If UEFA operate anything like the EPL it will depend which side of the bed they get out of imo.

I do tend to agree though, I doubt a shared chairman would be deemed to have sufficient operational control, otherwise there’s no shared directors AFAIK, Nor shared funding structures or debt arrangements that could imply control.
I suspect the last one re finances might have been an issue for Eagle Football Holdings / Palace given what’s come out about Lyon / Flamengo.
Textor was also CEO of Lyon iirc (since stepped down) so sounds a much easier line to trace to direct control or influence.

I think that is the point.
It’s impossible to argue that Everton and Roma do not share the same ownership.
It is a blight that has been allowed to spread through football and is definitely against the spirit of competition.
It is not a problem for us currently, but potentially could be in the future .

With the worry being potentially negative inducements to avoid having to make that decision - let's say we were within a win of qualifying for Europe in a competition Roma had already qualified for, what if our owners had a "quiet word" with the manager beforehand to the extent that we decisively lose the game thereafter? Not likely, but not impossible.

Not getting at you lad but
Some posters on here saying we haven’t got enough players to field a team and TFG need to get their wallet out and other lads have us qualifying for Europe next season
Never change GOT never change

It was theoretical, but maybe your thinking aligns with our owners, another reason to not want to invest in said signings, who knows?
