Do old school English conditions really exist anymore? I think a spinner who can occupy is pretty essential myself in Oz at least, the role Swann played there way back was crucial.

As you say you can't pick a guy for the sake of it, but thats why Stokes and Baz have tried to bring someone on, it may yet come off
A quality spinner in Australia is essential to win there, and it needs to be a bowler with "overspin" to generate bounce, which is why Swann usually did alright out there in general. Warne himself bowled completely different at home with far more overspin and top spin. Lyon has a phenomenal record because of the same style.

It's only the first innings. Bed! :)

Really? Anything over 150 is difficult to get in the 4th innings of a test match. I mean I don't trust our bowling attack because it's not great but it certainly isn't game over.
To be fair, nothing surprises me anymore with this team....

They've done well to get themselves in with a shout, but after seeing the way India have batted throughout the series you'd have to think they'd be confident of batting it out. Even of it took most of the day

We can only hope that India give way under pressure, and to be fair, our first two wickets were gifts. The next two were great deliveries from Carse and Stokes. Woakes's c&b drop off Rahul could end up being being costly and you would expect any bowler to catch that 9 times out of 10.
It will all be down to the seamers tomorrow as Bashir only seems to take wickets when the batters get complacent, but would be happy to be vaulted if he ended up with a 5-fer.
