Crystal Palace and the Europa League

Why not put Palace in a qualifying round of the Europa League. Draw them against the best team in it, 2nd leg away obviously. If things are still tight after the 1st leg, bring a famous ref out of retirement and bung him a few quid. I think UEFA might have done this before !!

no i'm not. We broke the rules and were charged. No issue with that. The punishment, and the fact we were first were over the top.

Then the fact the punishment wasn't standard and up to 3 peoples interpretation was ridiculous.

Yours is pretty simple. No 2 clubs can play in the same comp if owned by the same person, or a person with significant interest.

The city group were forced to make changes by a deadline last season with Girona. They did it.

Forest made the changed by the deadline.

Palace didn’t. It’s really that simple. I feel for the fans but as other users have pointed out, this is on the ownership.

Despite how much I dislike them, I can understand why forest would be annoyed if they had sorted their ownership situation out on time only for Palace to break that rule and not face punishment.

You either for the rules of the game being implemented or not. You cant cry out when you feel like a ‘big’ club is getting away with it and then say oh it’s unfair on Palace.

or change the rules to get them in, and then they mysteriously happen to draw TNS in their first game and don`t end up playing a team from La Liga on their way to the group stages.

Steve Paris didn’t disagree with Everton being charged. On talk sport when asked about PSR he said ‘rules are rules’.

I feel sorry for Palace. But how is it fair for Forrest to follow the rules and ensure the use of a blind trust but Palace dont and then still don’t get punished? This is completely on the Palace board. If your ownership had got their house in order by the deadline then it’s a non-issue.

You’ve not been treated unfairly. This rule has been applied fairly across all clubs in the competition.
