2 england batters outscored 'extras'. one by 8 runs, the other by a solitary run. If that doesn't explain the clear failing of the zero patience approach nothing will. This england setup seems entirely based on roid rage thinking. super aggro, bat like mad men, chase parked cars, application of strength, zero finesse, even less patience. 20twenty stuff.
Don't you be worrying about technique, patience, game management, looking at the scoreboard, overhead conditions or at the pitch.....it's all about 'body language' that's what wins test matches.
Attitude.
Got no technique and throw the bat at everything? mates with Ben Stokes? Buzzing and Bazzing off no responsibility whatsoever?
Apply to be an England opener @ C/O Big Stokesy, MCC, Lords, London.

Issue was they couldn’t actually score runs at a decent rate. They put little pressure on India.

Looks like they’ve changed approach during this series and it’s not worked as much.

Players forced themselves into playing poor shots because they hadn’t scored quick enough.

Root 40 for 96, stokes 33 for 96.

Probably would have had a better chance playing more aggressive.

Also, our bowling attack is worse than theirs.

Woakes is a first change bowler at best.
Crawley has no technique other than chase every ball outside off stump.
Pope is never a number three while he has an orifice to defecate out of.
Bashir must be a pet project or an ongoing bet amongst the England selectors that he will take more than single figures wickets in a 5 match series.
Isn’t it amazing that the best English players don’t get chosen? Yet when they do get chosen they don’t always deliver. Then the best players are those that still haven’t been chosen. Then I wonder what happens next?

As ever, some bloke on the internet knows so much more than people that run English cricket.

As an armchair watcher and or selector, I know that Crawley, as an opening batsman doesn't have the requisite skills to face a few overs against a new ball that moves slightly in the air or off the seam.
WHICH, if I'm not mistaken, is his ACTUAL JOB.

So you offered further commentary on one player yet mentioned 4 players in the post that I replied to. My point is (read the first part of the post that you replied to) is: who have we got, that hasn’t been tried already, is going to do better. Further, when he comes into the team and fails miserably who are you going to cry about next?

I thought I'd comprehensively answered you in the original post.
Making points on a Sunday afternoon and winning seems to be a big thing for you.
I'll say it all again.
Crawley has no technique at all apart from throwing the bat outside off stump at anything that is wide.
Pope doesn't have the technique, nor the skill or concentration to be a number 3.
Woakes is now a 4th seamer in a proper test attack.
Bashir can't take enough wickets to win a test match on a wicket that turns sideways.
Has that answered all of your 'points' or do you want to carry on arguing to win the internet?
