Ha. Started watching that. Then realised I hadn't watched season 3 of Bosch Legacy. Started watching that, then I realised it was so long since I'd seen season 2, I couldn't remember the storyline. So am now re watching season 2.

If you look at the cast too.

It would be virtually impossible for a regular tv channel to put together a cast like that, due to the sheer cost of hiring them.

It’s one of the best crime dramas of all time ( imo ) but it’s just so dark, which is why I compared it to the first series of True Detective.

I’ve read the books several times and the tv series cuts nothing out, which is very rare, due to the sheer depravity of some of the content.

It really is a must watch ( imo )

I liken it to mindhunter also a Netflix show, but slightly different obvs. Or Dahmer - that was mad.

But the ripper I’ve been fascinated with for a long time. His book was a bit odd in some ways, like a woe is me kind of story.

Not as far as i am aware. I mean i wasnt literally there, but from what i have read, and what i remember.

It appears to be based on fact, or as much as fact is today..

Hmm maybe we're thinking of two different shows. My memory of Red Riding is it's all fake.

I would advise watching the last series of Bosch as Ballard appears in the last episode they continue on as its the same author - Bosch is a great series from the first series any rate & if you have not watched them you have missed a gem of a police thriller ....

Never got past the first season myself. Thought it was great but I couldn’t handle how anxious it made me feel

That's exactly how it made me feel. Same with Boiling Point, and the Safdie movies Good Times and Uncut Gems.

However instead of making me not want to watch, it made me fascinated by how good the pacing and editing is to cause that feeling.

Yeh I’ll deffo give it a rewatch. I remember seeing it when it came out but I must have only been about 17/18 at the time so probs didn’t quite grasp it all fully.

….watched the first 2 episodes of The Survivors, Australian ‘whodunnit’ series on Netflix. 6/10 at this point but it’s ok and quite happy to watch a few more tonight.

These Emmy nominations for actor and actress are a disgrace tbh.

Diego, Genevieve, Stellen and the rest of the cast of Andor have been proper robbed.

The BAFTAs better recognise greatness.
