A Tortoise would be an improvement on Harrison - he works hard , but can't beat a man or cross like Johnny Morrissey...... Moggsy was not a jet fast winger , but his footwork was fast - a brilliant crosser of the ball - right on Joes head ..... he beat his men by shear footwork John Roberson was the same ilk for Forest as a comparison....….no, I meant Dixon. I mean from pre-season. He seemed to impress enough in pre-season for him to be given an opportunity, he was brought into the fold before reverting back. Two years ago I thought Stan Mills might be the one in pre-season but Dyche was clearly more impressed with Dobbin.
Maybe somebody outwith Harrison could impress Moyes this time.

the ability to cross a good ball is a dying trend into days game ....
I hope he makes the squad this year - we tend to go for expensive youth players - which is good if they turn out great as the fees are astronomical - its a changing game I agree - but you need a blend of youth & experience no doubts - Jack Harrison stopped our youth development - that could easily be argued !…sorry, Joey, this is the youth team thread so the discussion included Harrison Armstrong (not Jack Harrison).
Saying that, humans are fast or slow regardless of age, Harrison Armstrong is 18 and very talented but I doubt he’s quick.

Two seasons of nonentity on sky high wages .....
We will never know they don't even make the bench Eggs ..... if they play a little bit they are thrown out for OAPs…we had nobody better than Jack Harrison in our youth set-up, so he didn’t stop our youth development unless you can say which player he ‘stopped’.
Young players come through because they’re extremely talented. Young players don’t come through because they’re young. Human beings can be slow at 16 and slow at 35, they can be quick at 16 and quick at 35.

I just think a lot of the senior 21s have injury issues like Ebere, Benjamin, Boakye, Tamen all missed serious time last year off the top of my head. By the time the 18s may be ready to step up there will be gaps opened up for them.
Doug still has a year of 18s eligibility so it's possible he floats between the 2 squads to rotate. It's not like he looked like Neuer at 18s level but the club still probably want to push him on ASAP so would fill in for Pickford every now and then assuming all are healthy.
I'm really hoping they just use Barnsley as the senior 3rd choice keeper which keeps him out of the youth rotation.
Not sure how much, if any weight we can put into it, but Nsangou is currently wearing 88 on his IG story. Previously Okoronkwo's number but would indicate he's being thought of as a full time member of the 18s squad given U16s get numbers 100+
I’m taking it as positive , we need to nurture this kid and another who needs to be shown there’s a pathway for him . We do appear to be doing that with his appearance in the stadium test game, starting at u18s , trip to Abu Dhabi with the u16s. From the bits I’ve seen of him , his physique and playing style all indicate a youngster of very high promise and potential. It's a relatively safe assumption that over the course of the year, players will get loaned out or injury prone players will miss time through injury. If we get to September and no one has been loaned or sold ill hold my hands up and say fair enough, the squads mahoosive, old and poor but right now, in July, its not a big deal. You’re assuming a lot here, that’s the problem.
I think or at least hope we're going to be quite aggressive in how much we promote him this season, or at least I hope so anyway. Everything so far suggests they rate him as highly as a Lawrence/Ishe/Small level player. If he rises fast its not completely out of the question he breaks the youngest player record with a favourable FA cup draw.I’m taking it as positive , we need to nurture this kid and another who needs to be shown there’s a pathway for him .
