Confirmed Signing Mark Travers

TFG are here IMO to get this facility sweated: up and running as a cash cow to prove it's a goer before they sell the club on at a profit.

PL status becomes all in that scenario. You get mid table and it's nice and comfy. They'd take that for the next 4/5 seasons in a heart beat. It's Roma they want trophies from. That'll satisfy them in that respect.
I feel I should point out to anybody that reads this, that it is the ramblings of an utter mad man and has no sense in reality.

All remains to be seen. I said we will have a very good idea about TFG by the end of this window. Right now they have done the things they HAD to do if they were to show ambition - but those things don't necesarilly mean they are ambitious as they are also sensible things to do to stabilise the club. It's the next six weeks that will show us where we are...

I think Branthwaite is the most significant indicator so far. It would surely have been better from a "financial stabilisation" point of view to cash in on him this summer and spend some of that on properly strengthening the squad. That leaves me to believe they are potentially more ambitious than you suggest above. However, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and we'll only eat at the end of August.

I doubt Roma will be prioritised over us - I think they can do both. And the Premier League is still far more lucrative than Serie A. There is no reason a properly-funded Everton couldn't win the Conference League or even the Europa League in a few seasons. That's a path into the CL. However, even if they DO sweat us, that's still WAY better than where we were under Kenwright and Moshiri. If they want to make good money on us, they'll have to make us a properly attractive bet. That means top six or seven. That would be acceptable to me over the coming three seasons.

Both clubs have their own ownership structure, they have enough money to invest in both clubs and have already.

There is nothing to suggest that Everton will be treated like the ginger step child.

Agreed. These people are fabulously wealthy and, more importantly, have numerous potential sources of investment to tap.

I see no evidence whatsoever that we are the poor relation here. We're in the more lucrative league, the more high-profile league, and are the ones in the brand new stadium. Our history compares favourably to that of Roma. I think we are far more prestigious to competent people than some might imagine...

If these fellas turn us into a proper Premier League club, our natural size will elevate us into the top eight with ease. From there, in the current environment, anything is possible.

They've done exactly nothing yet.

I’m quite confused at people seemingly suddenly becoming aware of the concept of a back up keeper for the very first time in their life.
I do find it a concern that Bournemouth had Kepa last season, who has now joined Arsenal and this fella isnt being considered for the Number 1 due to them buying a Chelsea reserve.

But as you say, hes coming in to help Pickford warm up before games, maybe get the odd cup game, so, meh.

Kelleher was in the same situation at Liverpool and I wouldn't say that he's a poor GK.

The modern-day Mike Hooper.

Anyone who plays for them is eulogised simply by wearing their shirt.

As an Irishman, I have a vested interest in Kelleher being good. What I will say for him is that he has finally realised he needed to get out and make his own way. No guarantee he succeeds, but he's given himself a chance...
