Confirmed Signing Mark Travers

Sorry. Absolutely not a priority for me. Always rated Harry Tyrer and he is not inexperienced, earned good reviews on loan at Chester, Chesterfield and Blackpool.
Perfectly adequate as a number 2, without spending money that could be better used elsewhere.
Massive jump to being number two here i look at trafford when was up last time with burnley was just not ready. And it showed to much of risk imo
Pickford: he's halfway through his contract and he could conceivably be on his last season here before he looks for a final club to end his career with and Everton be in any position of strength to get cash for him.

It's decent forward planning getting this feller in - if he's good enough.
Not sure if serious the lad is 31 amd can 100% being top of the clubs list to get looked into a new deal. Be same wih tark moyes thinks is he is a key park of the squad. Honestly could be here another 5 years easily even more ashley young was 39, gk last longer

Has your keyboard got sunstroke?

If he genuinely wants to be a number 1 then he won't be coming here, unless we're telling him that Jordans going sooner rather than later ...

Given how settled pickford is I dont see him leaving anytime soon

And be one wrong step away from Harry Tyrer making 30+ PL starts for the club? He’s never made an appearance above the third tier. His two seasons before that were in non-league football. No way he’s the number 2, we took a huge risk with Viriginia and we got lucky, never again.

Back-up goalie is a really vital squad position. Ideally they never play but if disaster strikes and they are forced into regular action you absolutely need to know they can handle it. Having someone who has played PL games and experienced big crowds, tv games etc. is hugely beneficial. Tyrer is more likely to be sold than handed that role with good reason.

I disagree. Every Premier League club needs a backup keeper of proven PL standard. Show me one club that doesn't. We have to plan for what happens if Pickford is injured or suspended. The backup keeper has to be totally dependable because keeper errors cost points and every point is vital.
Exactly
Just think of the lucky escape Pickford had when the Dutch centre half attacked him in the derby
He could have been out for months with a bad injury
That Dutch lad was lucky he didn’t get jailed for assault
I’d say the police didn’t want to arrest him in hospital
That and Pickford telling the police to leave it be

Good signing this yeno in terms of a solid number two to Pickford. Better than what we've had for years, with all due respect to Joao..

We had a club option on him that we didn’t take up mate.
It was a pretty awful game at Goodison in the Cup replay against Palace in 2024, but in the dying minutes he stepped up and showed he was pretty reliable.

We sat just to the left of the goal and I was watching his movement and command of the area the whole of that second half. Did ok in the 1st match too..

If we didn't take our club option, then we had already decidex we could do better than that.

I dont doubt it when were looking at younger players.

But a player in plain sight for several seasons who has never been offered a move before?

Seems odd to me.
I don’t disagree with you, and I’m dubious about the analytics. It was sort of, “If this made sense, this could be their rationale.”
