Got a weather station, so I know the reading is about as accurate as I can get at this location. Just been out watering all our flower beds/ plants and trees while I still can before the hosepipe ban comes into this area.

My guess is Spanish buildings historically were equipped with thick walls and the kept the blinds closed/windows closed to keep the heat out.

This. @Rita_Poon, many houses on the continent with warmer climates are designed to keep the heat out, and surfaces that are more comfortable.

Here in the UK, houses are typically designed to retain heat: double-glazed windows, cavity wall insulation, roof insulation and carpeted floors etc.

Nor do we have air conditioning. Our dog is struggling, to the point I've got her sleeping under the covering down the side with a cool mat and fan.

Good to wet their feet with cold water mate, one of the best ways to cool them down if they start panting in the house.
I take ours in the back garden and just run a bit of cold water over his feet. We also have a small spray bottle that sprays like a mist, fill it with water and keep it in the fridge, then there's the massive fan thats like a jet engine and sits on the floor.
Cost a fortune trying to look after them.
I feel like screaming when you see people out with their dogs at midday onwards.
