Confirmed Signing Mark Travers

I doubt that we are an attractive proposition for younger goalkeepers who will want to be playing regularly, so I have my doubts as to whether we can pull this deal off. Whilst Bournemouth may be willing to sell, Travers may not welcome the opportunity to deputise Pickford with open arms.

Although I am somewhat surprised that we have not gone for a free agent (such as Angus Gunn or Lukas Fabianski), we would certainly be acquiring a Premier League-quality shot stopper in Travers.

I understand, but how long do you keep a young keeper before enough is enough?

He's 23, yes not old in keeper terms. But if we are buying Travers then that could mean he's 27 before he even gets a look in.

How long do you stay at a club before you decide to call it a day?

Not sure how long he has on his contract, but if Travers comes in, I don't see him renewing.
Tyrer has shown plenty of promise and his career to date is rather similar to Pickford's early career, in that Tyrer has had opportunities out on loan in increasingly tougher leagues. Tyrer may well have the quality to play in the Premier League one day, but I currently don't see an opening with us, so he may decide to call it quits once his contract expires.

This keeps happening, it's like those pills in Alice in wonderland.

Moyes must of made it clear wants experience and get a gk who has more room in them to make an impact. Over the others on a free near the end, others like Tyrer would be a risk at number two because if the quality of the prem, pressure of the stadiums ect and is a big jump from the lower leagues. The lad could have talent to make it, but sometimes just not a pathway to make it in the first team. And is something we should be doing is selling players in the youth team we cant get into the team, putting in stuff to buy back and sell on %

I'd rather Tyrer got a look in to be honest. He's impressed on his loans, and I'd rather see if he could step up, otherwise, what's the point.

Think Harry will be sold before end of the window. He had a solid enough season at Blackpool. However, if he was closer to the 1st team, he would have been in the Championship last season and not League One. IHowever, if you compare Tyer to the likes of Cooper at Sheff Utd, Harry is a long way off that just now.
