To me, this is the preferred 11 next year.

Back ups:
Morgan
Boakye
Bates
Finney
Moonan
Foster
Clarke and Akarakiri float up and down from the U18s (they weren’t world beaters at the U18s and probably are depth options at the u21 level)

Loan or sold
Cambell
Welch
Dixon
Heath
Metcalfe
Onyango
Okoronkwo
Sherif

Starting U18 looks like this:

Stewart and probably Gardner slot in for Clarke and Akarakiri respectively if they move up.

Yeh possibly but still a bit too experience heavy for me. Plus Finney should definitely play ahead of OSS who is bang average.

Won’t argue about OSS there, just get the feeling he will get picked over Finney for at least the first few months.

I don’t know about experience though. There is no one on that squad who has more than a year of U21 under their belt. I know we want to be pushing the youth ahead as fast as possible but there needs to be a little bit of balance.

Well, maybe experience not the right word, more just thinking surely Benjamin, and probs JBC, would want a taste of men's football by now.

I would be looking at fast tracking Olayiwola into the u21s by Christmas, he’ll need a bit of time to adapt to full time training , although he’s looked pretty fit and not lacking in endurance last season. To attract and keep star youngsters we need to be showing we will develop them down a clear pathway with early opportunities.

At u18 so many players like Clarke, Robert, Matos and Akarakiri are showing potential. The one I like who hasn’t had much of a mention is Luis Gardner, he’s got the right physicality and can play multiple positions, we just need to make sure his versatility doesn’t count against him.

Nsangou will surely be making the U18 side this year.

Agree with all of that. I should have clarified and said that’s “opening day” as opposed to the long term starting 11s.

It will also be interesting to see who of the scholar class can step up, which may push some of the U21/U18 fringe players up earlier in the year
