What were visma doing today?? Tried their best to force pogi into yellow and still failed.

All it did was remove a potential jeopardy with MVDP having near 2 mins in hand

For sure, they needed to load all the yellow jersey media duties onto Pogacar for a few days but didn't.

I cant see there being no rhyme or reason to what Visma did though. There must be a plan.

Interesting to see what happens tomorrow. Category 4 and two category 3 climbs. Let's see if Pogacar tries to crack Vingegaar...and what the Dane can do about it.

Pogacar is odds on barring a crash.

However, the first week has suited him down to the ground: TT, undulating stages where he could get time bonuses, stages with a big final climb.

But...apart from the TT in which he had a poor day...Vingegaar is still there on Pogacar's wheel. And Visma are doing their job keeping him up there.

Vingegaar looks strong, and the high mountains, where it's category 4 climbs galore, is where Vingegaar will mount a big challenge to the Slovenian. Get him isolated from his UAE team and get Jorgensen to attack him as well and see if there's any weakness after all the racing he's done for the past year.

It will be a blow if Almeida is inconvenienced by his cracked rib, but Adam Yates has had an easy week so should be pretty fresh come the hills. It's hard to see where he could lose 1m18s.

I think there's 6 mountain stages left.

I cant see Pogacar in the form he's been in for well over a year cracking either. However, the Tour is the Tour and Vingegaard has bested him twice before and he's in good shape - unlike in last year's edition. I expect the gauntlet to be thrown down in the Alps and Pyrenees.

Vingegaard is criticised for not being proactive enough, but we'll see some attacking from him and Jorgenson in the next 2 weeks, for sure. They've already got under Pogacar's skin with that ruckus over the bottle in the feed zone yesterday. I think there's going to be more of that from Visma as they turn the heat up on Pogacar.

It would be nice. In the Dauphine, he was stronger in the TT, but struggled in the mountains. Here, he got thrashed in the TT. It doesn't bode well.
