Finished Old Guard 2 this morning, enjoyed the first one as it felt like a new idea, sequel not so great imo.

Dunno WTF I even watched there, incomprehensible. They really have gone off the rails with some of these lately, they're all inherently daft but this made stuff like Winter Soldier seem like Citizen Kane. Really boring as well.

B movie levels of bad. some hilariously comedic acting in this and no I don’t go into it hoping for something like the original - this does try and has some cute nods. But it’s so bad, so so bad.

We are in the Fast and the Furious era of Jurassic World now.

Equilibrium. Despite this film being over twenty years old, I had never actually seen it before today. Even though I'm not a big fan of Christian Bale (due to his childish, entitled, hysterical on-set rant whilst working on Terminator Salvation(?)), I still enjoyed his performance and the film.

Oh definitely, they don't even attempt to hide it. I was convinced I had already seen the film, but I think I may have been confusing it with Minority Report.

Didn’t think it was that bad tbh.

The first hour could’ve done with chopping by 30 mins, as it was just dull and pointless.

You could’ve made a tick list of who was going to die first, by how much dialogue they had.

It won’t win any awards, but at the end of the day, it’s just brain dead fun.

I liked the defiance you showed with your previous post. Statement of intent stuff. I see you in the old west, a pioneer, conquering territory and planting your flag. An eagle screeches. You wipe the sweat from your brow. The music starts up, you look into the distance... credits roll...

Haven't got that far and doubt I ever will. Once the MCU went into Multiverses and time travel then absolutely nothing that happens is ever of any real consequence whatsoever.

MCU has never been water-tight plotting or sensible given the source material but at least in the past it was fun with a bit of creativity around the various big fat reset buttons. Unfortunately once End Game painted itself into the time travel corner then the game was pretty much up.
