When the first point in 'The reality' is "Still a premier league side", that shows how little we have to offer.

This summer will still be seen as a risk for some players joining. There are the green shoots of recovery in place with an awesome new stadium and hopefully competent owners, but I'd expect with progress over the next 1-2 seasons we may see the Everton name becoming a draw again next summer or the one after.
While a new stadium is nice I don’t think it means that much to players in the overall scheme of things
They spend on average 2hrs a week there while they spend 20/30 hrs at the training ground
Money as always counts as does ambition if the club and how their family like the area

Dave there are dead woman and kids involved in that flood and they've literally donated to help out but you've chosen to come on here dig them out because you basically don't want them owning your football club.

Grow up ey,fella...your a grown man.
I'm not doing that at all. Someone copied me into this thread by asking where I was in the wake of 'good news' stories regarding the new owners. I responded to that.

Notice there’s a lot of straw clutching going on with our fan base in relation to our new owners.

As it stands they have only strengthened the balance sheet and therefore their investment.

We are here to see Everton win, therefore our real concern is what is their ambition for Everton on the pitch, we haven’t had chance to judge them until June 1st came along.

As it stands it’s July 7th and I’ve seen nothing to suggest they have the ambition to make us anything but a safe asset (Moyes appointment plays into this).

Happy for everyone to bookmark this as it could all change in the next few weeks.

I’ve decided to take the opposite approach to what I did with Moshiri and they have to prove to me they’re legit.

Although this attitude has upset a few on here who are putting blind faith again even after the whole Moshiri debacle.

It's not straw clutching. It's more looking back than looking forward.

We were dead in the water for many years. If we had been relegated, we would have been in Administration. We were contracted to sell the club to a pyramid scheme, and were only getting other interest from under-funded wannabes.

They've transformed the balance sheet which is the best news this club has had in a long while. Some dismiss this as them just snapping their fingers and poof it's done, which is incredibly ignorant. Many feel this is just table-stakes to owning a club, completely ignoring the past 40 years of our history.

They've completely transformed the board and the club's entire leadership structure. No, that hasn't won us any points yet, but it's no small thing either.

So yes, they get the benefit of the doubt for their first summer window from me. At least allow them to conclude their business and see what comes out at the end of the window. I can't speak for others, but this attitude that it's "July whatever and they haven't done enough for me" is a bit mindless.

I'd question anyone that's formed a definitive judgment either way.

The proof will be in the pudding, and while the early signs are grounds for optimism, what rubber hits the road at the end of the transfer window will tell us a lot more about their plans for the football club.

You can sneer at a phrase like "these things take time," but guess what? These things take time.
I think its too early to myself to judge , I do think its healthy to discuss both sides though.

With that discussion will come questions , each passing day currently will invoke more questions so long as we still have just 14 players . Rightfully so.

It's not necessary sneering its more objectively agreeing or disagreeing depending on the point.
