Transfer Rumour John McGinn

@Mikey_Fitzgerald recommended this fella years ago.

Another missed along with the alleged PLs greatest ever CB....
I got to see him first hand of course at Hibs

I think he's a decent player and could end up being a Darren Gibson type signing

Hopefully McGinn is actually a professional though and not a binge drinking waste of time like Chubson was

He's perfect for us - but we don't have a cat in hells chance of getting Villa's skipper unfortunately.
I'd try for Lavia at Chelsea.

Would be very much in favor if it was a low fee and short contract, but realistically that isn’t happening. Would be a very bad idea to pay a high transfer fee for someone with his profile. I understand us asking the question, though.

Can't believe that anyone thinks John McGinn doesn't improve our squad. If he joined us, he walks into the team, gives us 3 years of tough tackling, great passing. Gets round the pitch well.

Was the star player in game against PSG just a few months ago.

He has been club captain of team that made the strides that we are looking to make. He is a massive character with a great temperament.

There will not be many Villa fans who would be happy with him going. I am sure that if was French / Brazilian / etc etc we would view him differently.

Gibson was not a signing we should be looking for. Cant see any comparison to be honest.

Not sure he's the same natural athlete as Barry though mate.

McGinn's game relies in a large part on engine, if that regresses at all, hes not the same player - big sports science question there given his age.

I watched him a few times coming back from injury and hes woeful until hes match fit, then when he is ive seen him win games by himself by dominating the midfield.
Barry was hardly a natural athlete. Experience taught him that pulling someone down at the half way line for a yellow card was far less hassle that trying to catch them running at goal.
