So, hear me out here.... We "sell" the stadium for 200m....but its like a lease, its over 10 years. Then next year we sell the women's team for something similar, and again, over a longer period of time...

Since Chelsea got away with selling hotels because there was "no specific rule" against it, surely there isnt one against that? Masters would be most impressed.
200m?. Mate it will be about 10m.

So Everton have not necessarily sold Goodison yet, they’ve just released it from a charge on another debt, is that correct?

Possibly lining up for a sale.

Or has a sale been confirmed anywhere?
So far only the release of charges has been filed but we can assume night will follow day and they will be sold intra group to the new holding company for the women’s team presumably generating a PSR profit for the men and creating assets for the new women’s holding company to raise debt or attract additional investors as TFG wish.

Assumed done legally so if Masters does come looking everything is above board.

About time the club started using these loopholes. Been either to nice or stupid to do it before

I have very deep suspicions that it wont be for 10m
If it’s of interest to anyone, I asked Chat GPT and it said-

“If Everton wanted the women’s team to purchase Goodison, they’d likely have to negotiate an internal or external sale in that £40–60 million ballpark, factoring in future investment for refurb and reconfiguration.”

That kind of feels like another 'now we have adults in charge' type post that ignores the realities of what we've seen in order to big up the new owners. The old ownership absolutely did attempt to use loopholes, but unfortunately it backfired spectacularly and left us massively up the creek.

Well, they didn’t exactly exploit those loopholes in an effective way, which rightly calls into question their judgment and capability.

Just because the owners tried and failed to be clever doesn’t mean it’s not possible to be clever.

Yeah, none of that was really the point? I was just saying people keep saying stuff like 'finally we have people who take advantage of things', but actually we did have people who took advantage of these things, it just didn't work out. It's not a defence of the old owner or a criticism of the new ones, just pointing out that we were previously not in any way 'too nice' to take advantage of loopholes.
