I’m a little suprised they’ve sold GP rather than renting to themselves indefinitely, I guess they’re hedging against such transactions being more closely governed in the future so hopefully taking a lump now while they can.
Probably also an angle to isolate the cost of changes for the Woman’s league matches and upkeep from the Men’s team OpEx.

You could sell on installment basis

Yeah I think the issue is that if EFC is the “landlord” they’re on the hook for the cost of the alterations for the ground and I doubt we could say that was a women’s football expense (ie PSR exempt) since we’d technically not have one. So it probably had to all be done in one fell swoop.

I think you can make the case it's a women's team expense but:

1. You don't know how long that exception will last
2. You don't get the sugar rush of a huge capital injection.
