With so many teams in European competitions then the target has to be that whilst they are distracted. Whether we can or not depends on who we bring in from now until the window shuts.

1, that wouldn’t be next season
2, they are backed by Saudi money and we’re not scrabbling around in the bargain to struggle to have enough players for a matchday squad.
3, they were not reducing the wage budget drastically.

What do you think our realistic target should be this season?

IMO we need to replace the likes of Forest and get on PAR with Villa and Newcastle, we are bigger than them all.

For me, we should look at reaching the Conference League and perhaps the Europa League. Throw in a decent cup and it should be a mint season.

I'll take 9th right this minute...especially if there was a point somewhere along the line where 6th or 7th was theoretically within our reach only for Moist to bottle it in his own inimitable fashion.

Of course that was with an orgy of acquisitions. Like what we've done so far but the pace needs stepping up.

Why are we negative before pre-season even starts? Thierno Barry is almost done things are only looking on the up

We were in great form since the end of January but we all know the more we get our hopes up that things are going to improve, the bigger the disappointment is when the new season comes around. Barry is nearly signed but the midfield looks very weak. Things are only looking up because for the last few years we`ve been so far off the pace.

If we can manage 48 back-to-back with a limited squad and limited manager then surely we can improve on that by at least 5 points. The only thing is the new stadium, it could take us a few months to settle. I doubt we'll have 20 points by November personally.

Realistic target would be to hit a 55+ points target.

"If" we buy well I think Moyes can get us competing for Europe. Our defence is great, we just need more goals.

Just down to how much quality and depth we have come the end of the window.
