This wasn’t the issue.

It was our bowling attack.
'Perversely' was the key, they opted again to bowl and labored and suffered and couldn't get the job done, it took ages, India piled two big scores on then when it came to at least match em, they failed. They as a team were out on the pitch longer in the field than at bat.

India first 151 overs
England first 89.3 overs
India second 83 overs
England second 68.1 overs

Totals, India 234, England 157.4

76.2 overs difference

Poor decisions, and poor batting, and a top order terrified. Attack selections lacking. The hard yards or replacing Anderson and Broad had to be put in 8 years ago. To happy coasting. This is the cost. India walloped England this test, without the best bowler in the world. He'll eat em alive next game if they falter this bad again.

I see the moaners have crawled from under their rocks.
I am like the likely lads avoid all the score flashes to enjoy the highlights- our bowling was pathetic & you have to question why in dry Indian conditions bowl first - knowing the last day pitch their spinners would be a big weapon for them - imo Sokes got cocky after winning the first test !
Off to Lords hope we fair better ,

Washington and Jadeja took one wicket each.

They turned the ball it applied pressure to give their seamers a rest - who bowled good line & length- Smith was our highlight two very good innings the rest well below par - crap happens - lets see what we can do at Lords ... its 1-1 with everything to play for no doubts we will lose the toss this time .....

I think a big issue is that we insist on Stokes filling the extra bowling and batting space and if he's not bowing, his batting can't carry him in the test.

His place is dependent on his Captaincy. And if he's making decisions which aren't sensible (I think the last two tosses have been poor decisions and he looks increasingly to be chasing rather than forcing games) then he is dead weight.
