2024/25 Michael Vincent Keane

wouldn't have given Keane this contract - hoping he won't have to be called on for more than a handful of games...

although it's a fair question to ask, if not Keane & we don't have any u-21's coming through who would be happy to come in and fill the '4th choice' role?... we need to spend all the money available in this window further forward...

any idea if hes on reduced wages or what?
I'd have my doubts. If he was to reduce his wages, he'd surely expand the number of clubs who could provide him with an alternative. Secondly, from a morale perspective, it's never great practice to reduce somebody's salary unless there is a shared understanding and benefit on both sides. Now, maybe there is. But I don't think it's a certaintly that he's on a reduced deal. Very hard to take something away from somebody and expect the same effort...

Maybe we don't...

I don't like Keane & was hoping we got rid but assuming a big paycut & considering he wasn't that bad after Moyes came & he is fourth-choice I can take the deal. Spending 10 million on a fourth-choice and having to pay a decent wage sounds a bit silly. Now our centre-backs are set for next season and our defence was already good last season. Let's spend the money on more critical positions.

I'm absolutely certain he's on reduced wages. There is no way club is going to pay him 100kpw any more. Yes, he could have more options but not at better clubs than us. Go back to Burnley and lose most weeks?

I hope this is correct. Certainly, you'd imagine the Friedkins would play harder ball than Blue Bill and Moshpit who, let's face it, would have given him a rise.

4th string cb 1st string CF

Moysey going 3-5-2

Beto and Kegmeister up front

Keeps defenders up at night

And we don’t have to sign any fullbacks

As a comparison of the 4th/5th choice CB at other mid-table sides (not direct as some play 3 at the back):

Bournemouth = James Hill (never heard of him in my life)
Brighton = Igor (crocked) or Eiran Cashin
Brentford = Ben Mee
Crystal Palace = Chadi Riad or Jefferson Lerma
Fulham = Jorge Cuenca (never heard of him in my life)
West Ham = Kaelen Casey (never heard of him in my life) or a full back like Aaron Cresswell
Wolves = Willy Boly

You're just making stuff up to be annoyed at.
We don’t need to make stuff up to be annoyed at, the club does it well enough like 😂
