It wasn't live on YouTube was it?? Don't tell me I missed it!!

Live stream for £25. A few of my mates went and watched it at the pub but there were problems with the stream which was frustrating. Cue my smug face when I left them at the pub at about 3.30pm to get to Villa Park as the only one who had a ticket.

This was very emotional and I had a few tears in my eyes:

Couldn't think of anything worse than watching Richard Ashcroft. Absolute garbage.

Is he past it? Saw him years ago solo and he was excellent. He actually has some good solo material spread around his records.

He was very good I thought. He plays a lot of The Verve hits so they are some great songs in his set.

As we all know Music is subjective, one person's great is another's worst.

Nick McCabe was the talent in that band. They sucked once Ashcroft took over.

Yep, he looks and sounds amazing for 77. Outstanding and given he’s not heavy metal, he made a great song choice for a heavy metal event, especially with plant and bonham only being from down the road.

Just watched the Metallica performance from Villa Park on youtube. Man I'm so glad they're still around, despite their age they're still as vital as ever. Hetfield's on fire here, his vocals are superb.

I watched their set earlier, Hatfield’s voice stood out to me too. Superb.

Less said about GnR, (well, Axl’s voice) the better. It’s a shame because they were my entry to this genre of music but he didn’t sound good. In a way, I wish Slash had kept performing with Myles Kennedy.
