This is an observation and a question rather than any form of criticism, however a lot of the British contingent wore suits for the funeral as expected...

...whereas others* wore black t-shirts. Is that a cultural norm? It stood out somewhat, as for me, personally, it's always a full suit regardless of the weather.

*by this, I mean footballers.

The fragility of life.

Three days ago none of us gave him a second thought, he was probably the least hated of the current Liverpool squad, totally inoffensive type of guy, not a knob head.

Three days later, he's already under the ground and has been mourned by his friends, family and the football community.

Life obviously will go on for everybody, but his poor young family losing a husband and dad at 28 - sad.

I wouldn't,it's roasting down here at the moment. I'm surprised anyone is wearing a jacket.

I have to say I understand FCBarça to a degree*.

The deaths of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre are a terrible tradgedy. And as someone said, it's just not normal for a 28 year old premier league footballer to die.
My problem is that it's becoming to be far too normal for Palestinian children to die. And in their case, it's no accident.

*He should understand that any celebrity death is bound to have a broader emotional impact due to our awareness of their existence. Seeing someone's face on tv and in newspaper photos regularly, hearing their name regularly, makes them feel part of our lives whether we like it or not. Moreso when lots of fans will have seen him in the flesh playing for our local rivals.

And whereas hearing the likes of Keir Starmer making the right noises while enabling genocide makes me sick to my stomach, I have seen, and he should also realise, that the vast majority of people on this forum are expressing their sadness and anger at the situation in Gaza on the appropriate space on this forum.

there is empathy for every innocent soul who is suffering.

Portuguese can be black t shirt, you dont see many Portuguese people in full suits at any time really. Even the more traditional men wear like chino, blue shirt etc
