2024/25 Beto

I have to agree! I wonder if he painted himself into a corner last year turning down a move and a new contract waiting for a big pay day elsewhere and then the 24/25 season happened and he missed big chances looked decidedly average and then was injured or sub for when Everton went on a good run. It seems like Everton couldn't careless about him leaving and almost seem happy for him to go. I also wish him the best and hope he gets a new start.
I think he just wanted to get away from the abuse he has suffered at times here.
Like most English clubs, we have a toxic underbelly amongst our supporters and he became a convenient target for these cerebrally challenged lowlifes at times.
They are probably the same people that chanted the ‘ Trigger’ song back in the day and their inbred progeny.

No racism though, the "abuse" if there was any was because he wasn't very good at what he was employed to do. That is the same for any professional footballer.

The racism still exists , and can still be heard just not chanted but muttered.
Homophobic abuse was , however , shouted at him frequently, and not all by older fans either.
We aren’t as special as we sometimes like to think.

Muttered around the ground? Or just Gwladys St or the Park End?

Do you see the same thing happening with Beto at the ground?

It's around the ground mate to be fair. I've heard over the years a few close to mark comments and some just well off the mark for this day and age. We do our best to stop it but unfortunately there will be people with other opinions to yourself.

You'll be in bother mate. Not allowed to smear our wonderful fans in the slightest. Even the racist homophobes.

I wonder if he’ll move if Barry comes in and we move for the Milwall lad. Can’t see Beto and Barry playing as a two and I’d presume Barry would be favoured to start.

We need three really.
To put pressure on each other and offer us options with players getting injured. Coming off the bench ect.
Barry will take time to settle in
I presume, he is better on the ball than Beto but He hasn't played in the prem it would be a Huge ask for him at his age and experience to carry are forward line right away.
Don't know if Moyes rates Beto but I do.
He is improving , never gives anything less than 100% if he carries on improving he can be an asset for us.

Not too sure about Barry starting right away. Beto has been scoring the goals and doesn't deserve to be not starting. So long as he keeps the goals up, I don't see why he'd not start.

I want Beto to stay, I like him and think he’s good either as a starter or an impact player off the bench. Just can’t help but feel if an Italian club comes in for him with a decent price and European football would he be off. If we keep Barry Beto and hopefully add Ivanovic then surely it would mean Chermiti goes on loan.

Beto is a good forward. I think he stays and we cement him as our forward with Barry coming on or covering injuries etc. He’s good in the air, he’s strong, powerful, and makes half decent runs. Only thing is his first touch isn’t amazing but I feel like that’s just something we have to accept. 9 times out of 10 if he in the box and has a chance, he scores.

He'll be missed...
