2024/25 Jack Harrison

I just can’t see it. Everyone who is struggling to remember where the goal is has basically been jettisoned or looks to be getting upgraded.

If it’s £5-6m as a squad player/backup, I could see Moyes saying yes. But nothing more than £10m.

i think we will sign an upgrade at rw to start, and get him as back up for a low fee or loan again

he is poor, but we need players, he also seems well liked in the squad. he knows how moyes wants to play. sometimes that harmony is just as important

what would need addressing are two things:

wages - his current deal at leeds, and what we paid him, would make him on of our highest earners. he wouldnt have a position in squad to reflect that, so we can’t afford that. can’t imagine it’s great for morale either and also would make other players demand higher

two, he can’t wear number 11. that should go to mcatee or doak or whoever we sign to start at RW

“he is poor, but we need players”

With respect what’s the point resigning poor players? We need competition for places mate not more “oh that will have to do” crap

Harrison isn’t even an option at RW. He's terrible on the left and he manages to be far, far worse on the right. McNeil is a poor player but contributes goals and assists. Harrison provides absolutely nothing.

because he have circa 15 first teamers so some will inevitably be cheaper and tried and trusted. a la Keane

But as you say, poor. What positive is that? All that does is see these players stay longer who add very little and within a certain time period will need replacing yet again, catching up with ourselves all the time because of short term questionable decisions. Dont we ever learn from these things?

i agree, I’m just trying to see the reasoning in it and the positives, and how we’re hamstrung a bit

id rather we spent good money on 3 players that could really improve our starting xi (cf, rw, cm) and the rest on squad players. then spread the cost and have a slightly better back up than harrison, but not as good a starter
