News of Ex Players

Down the years we seem to have had so many players look good on paper, but seemed to be not so good on grass.
That's what happens with young players. That's why all these talks of "our youth team has many players who look good so why not fill gaps in first team with them" are folly. Most of those lads do make a living as a footballer, but will do so in League One / League Two or some smaller league like Scotland in this case.

Purely accidental if I remember correctly. Wasn't it McCarthy putting a hard tackle on Rondon and coming out worse?
It was yes didn't mean there was any malice at all. Rondon himself was distraught as well

Fans of championship clubs in the bottome half will be relieved. At least he had a go at management though, just didn't work out

….was talking to Plymouth fan a few weeks ago, they loved him but he just wasn’t very good. Apparently never took a penny off the club, not even to pay up the remainder of his contract. No idea if that’s true.

I think with the likes of Rooney they need to surround themselves with the right support team, at least a couple of proper coaches.

Would benefit from a lot of years as understudy to a few top managers. Granted the game evolves and players earning more than the manager can be difficult to the point of being unmanageable, so treat em like Ferguson did, bin em off. To change things up Ferguson would rotate in a few old characters, he'd keep his core coaches but freshen things up with new ideas from his pals. Alternately Rooney could go and manage a non league side and see if he can promote them. Do it the championship manager method.

Lampard looked to have a good support team around him but was still out of his depth.
Great players just often don’t make great managers for whatever reason.

The skills required to be a good player have very little to do with being a good manager. Sure, some are able to do both, but being able to score goals, pass, etc has very little to do with management.
