2024/25 Michael Vincent Keane

4th choice centre half is not a position you want to spend a lot of money on when you have a limited budget and only play a back 4 system.

I can understand the decision, even if it's not a very exciting piece of business. In an ideal world you re-sign Keane for 1 or 2 years and also identify a young centre half who can hopefully become a squad player in 1 - 2 seasons.

I'm fine with this. I think by the end of the upcoming season, we’ll know whether Jake O'Brien can be the long-term replacement for Tarkowski, or if someone else will need to come in which will prompt the move of one CB currently signed.

Not worried by this. Could be argued he could have left for more cash as can’t imagine our offer is big (although could be argued he’s opted for an easy life playing twice a season).

If he does exactly what he did last season, no more no less, it’s a perfectly sound decision.
Spot on.
