New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Rotherham never misses a photo opportunity with us but all we get in return is excuses. We now also seem to be a must do media moment for government ministers sent out to talk up growth and regional investment. They are using us as an exemplar despite having contributed nothing to what has been delivered. Politics for you!

We can only hope Chong and the club are using these opportunities to lobby hard for actual cash and other enabling support for our wider plans for the area around the stadium and for the future of Goodison. The city needs the ‘new town’ and ‘football quarter’ visions to get moving fast rather than just becoming the latest great idea for regeneration that never gets off the ground for want of £££.

The badge is now getting the secondary bits added (or the black tape is being removed? - hard to say)

After the visit Rotheram probably told the government delegation they had to stagger their exit from the ground and walk single file back into town across the Bascule Bridge.
And we don’t need any new transportation hubs as the stadium will be used once a fortnight in the football season.

I have a grudging respect for EFC’s refusal to give us renders of the finished ‘branded’ product and instead have us following each new step in the process in minute detail on a daily basis. I now have this mental image of a guy called Nigel being responsible for this torturous marketing strategy. His hobbies being ageing homemade nettle and dandelion spirits for a minimum of ten years, binge-watching slow tv and dungeons and dragons weeks with several like-minded friends in their eco-yurt in Snowdonia. He’s hoping to start a tantric massage for beginners course just as soon as he has finished his matchstick replica of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Forum complex that he has been constructing in his grandparents’ attic since 2013.

I like the cut of that Nigel's jib. Seems a chilled dude. I hope we are making plans for him.
