Adblock Warning

You will have, on here. There's threads discussing them. On the forum home page now, it has a 'Trent alexander Arnold' thread and that'll often be replaced by a thread discussing them.

Even if you hadn't browsed any content with associating LFC stuff, Liverpool will have lots of ad partners, and if one of them decides to serve ads based on demographic/location, they'll end up here as we have a lot of Liverpool based traffic.

It's a bit whac-a-mole in removing them.
I hate algorithms. I watched Valencia win at Real Madrid,so it's probably made the TAA link

Please stop with the alerts when I'm not even adblocking 😭

Thanks for disabling adblock.

The alert isn't real time mate.

What happens, is if your device/any device you use to access the forum - blocks even 1 ad, you're put in an adblock usergroup an you'll see the alert, until you're out of that usergroup. And that can take x amount page loads.

Ads can be blocked if on a public network etc, or even just glitch on the connection. Adblockers can block ads before they realise we're whitelisted with them etc.

More info on this here.

I recently adjusted settings to prevent how quick people are placed into adblock usergroup.

Getting this exact ad every other page.

Thanks - will flag that one. They're not meant to be any bigger than the little small horizontal ones.

Keep getting adblock detected and cannot access the site until it realises that the site is is whitelisted .Can be up to 10 minutes, really annoying.

GOT almost unusable in work where adblock can't be switched off

GOT would not exist at all if adblock can't be switched off everywhere.

I increased the prompt from 7 page views, to every view.

If you don't have adblock on any device you use to access the forum, then you wont be put into an adblocking usergroup and have no problem.

If you have 10 page loads on the spin, with adblock enabled. You get put in an adblock usergroup. If you have 1 page load without it, you're removed.

Appreciate there is rare instances where you can't turn it off - like in work - but there's no way we can distinguish genuine reasons.

Either don't visit on devices which force adblock, or if you want to browse with adblock - pay 11p per day/Ā£3 per month and you become exempt to the adblock nag.

I use adblock but have whitelisted GOT. There is a lag between the site reading that adblock is disabled, very annoying.

Also see my post 3/7/25 showing advertising but still getting the adblock detected notice.

I can see you whitelist GOT mate, thanks.

But your example is expected behaviour.

It's explained in the pinned thread - please read below;

Particularly;

  • Network settings: If your network uses a VPN, proxy, or DNS-based filtering (e.g., AdGuard DNS, Pi-hole), it may block ads without an explicit adblocker.

You are using a VPN. Your country IP bounces around daily.

You have something on your Android Phone that prevents our scripts running/blocks ads.

You block ads at a percentage of 5%;

So occasionally, you'll be lashed in an adblocking usergroup which then has ad blocking messaging.

I've asked the developer if he can prevent the adblock notice to people who rarely use adblock (so you, at only 5%) but it could take a little bit of time.
