Gout Gout.

First....YES!
Its acid in your blood the crystalises & get stuck on any joint in your body - I get it because my kidneys are grade 3 disease after my tumour operation - Its very very painful seems to attack my feet - forget the old wives tale - of rich food - although your diet is important mine is spot on with just 2 meals per day - I have a protective tablet every day , but can only have a low dose as per kidney function etc - I use ice packs, & have a special painkiller in stock for it ay by breaking up the blood crystals - Its a vey painful on some attacks get about 2-3 a year .....

I am seeing my GP later to get some more special painkillers if it arises again for Gout .....to have in stock for the future .....

No not the title of @Joey66 autobiography, it’s a very fast teenager from Australia.

Was anyone here good at athletics? I can still remember my PE teacher almost pissing themselves watching me try to throw a javelin.
I was banned from javelin because I managed to throw it in a way that it almost hit me where I was standing.

Was pretty good at all running distances but we had a kid I’m by year who ran for England so I never got any attention or coaching from the teachers who couldn’t see anybody with a bit of talent and work ethic past him so I moved on to wine, weed and women.

Javelin..pretty hard to master imo.

Inspired by Steve Ovett I did 800m and retired after a 1 minute 58s performance as an 18 year old since training for that was knackering my sprint speed at the togger, which i much preferred playing.

I once had a double dose of it back in the 90's, bloody painful especially at night

This is still very common in running by all accounts.

Seems to be down to a lot of the coaches being decent runners as youngsters, but never cut the grade and now live their lives through the " star " kid runner.

99% of parents at their kids rugby league games here. Making it more about themselves and their agendas trying to get their kids into the representative squads.
