Do we think there will be any surprise additions to the new intake of scholars? Been quite quiet on that front, compared to last year at least.

Linked to a lad from Charlton a few months back but v unreliable source. Also linked with Liverpools keeper and the lad from Hearts. I'd take all with a pinch of salt. Main thing is that Olayiwola looks to be staying
 

No news of signings from outside the club other than Dodds, and the rumours about the goalkeeper from Rangers.
That said, we didn’t know about Matos or Akarakiri (though I think he had a trial game) last year until the scholars were announced. And Clarke signed later in the window, so there may be a few surprises to come.
This class also looks to be stronger than the past few years, so maybe not the same rush to backfill with outside prospects

I think your last sentence is the key, last season’s u16s appeared stronger, plus I wonder if we’ve lost the impetus we had this time last season to scout and track players available from outside as we change to a different model under different key personnel.
