Confirmed Signing Thierno Barry

The ‘strikers’ were often pushed out wide though, Yak, Saha and to a lesser extent Jelevic being exceptions. But Yak and Saha were elite finishers so we tended to play a little differently with them on the pitch.
But AJ for example having been a golden boot runner up before we bought him, became Yaks legs doing all the donkey work out at the corner flag
Were they? I don’t remember that being a feature under moyes? As has been said elsewhere, they were often tasked with running the channels a lot but I don’t recall us actually using them wide much, other than being asked to do a job for the team in certain situations in the same way most people had to in our squad in those days. That’s also not really anything to do with the point being made though, I was just saying it’s not a coincidence that Moyes often converted midfielders into his support strikers rather than strikers and I can’t imagine him changing that now.

I think Moyes fits his tactics to suit the players. The running channels stuff is just an unjustified stick to beat him with.

Pimped out in his cardigan.

If transfer value was determined by numbers of pages written on a player before they signed, we wouldn't be able to afford Barry and it would be partly my fault.
