A Traffic Cone. When Keane eventually leaves won’t he need replacing ?

Then what's he still doing at the club. If we don't have players in the Under 21 squad that are good enough to spend most of the time sitting on the first team bench we might as well save some money and bin off the whole set up. If we are prepared to give a new contract to a player nobody else wants just because he's happy to sit on the bench it speaks volumes about Moyes and our new owners. He's been at loan in the Belgian second division and in division 2 here. Thats a fair indication hes not premier league quality.
If we don't have a central defender in the Under 21 squad who couldn't do what we expect of Keane this season we might as well fold the whole set up.The thing is have we got any talented youngsters? I wouldn’t object at all but they can’t be ready or this wouldn’t happen I’d imagine.
If he's not worth considering in front of Keane then I can't see why he's at the club. If our youth development is that bad then with the constraints on our spending it's going to be more years of at best mid table mediocrity.Seen myself yeah. We’ll see where he ends up..
I have no idea ..I dont hand out the contracts. But he will never start games for us.Then what's he still doing at the club. Sad news, with Keane such a low bar you'd think one of the youngsters would have targeted his place in the squad.I have no idea ..I dont hand out the contracts. But he will never start games for us.
He got a contract when he was 19 . He hasn't kicked on ..he wont get another one.
If they aint good enough they ain't good enough. That's the reality.Sad news, with Keane such a low bar you'd think one of the youngsters would have targeted his place in the squad.
I think the logical reaction to not having any players in the u21's good enough to step up to the first team is to improve the setup, scouting and coaching rather than just fold the youth teams. Then what's he still doing at the club. City and Chelsea seem to do okay. Our set up is a total waste of time and money. If they aint good enough they ain't good enough. That's the reality.
The amount of academy players that make it to the Premier League is miniscule.

Maybe he is happy to live in the area and will get handsomely paid to stick around. Not reading back all the posts but honestly why would he want to stay ? Yes a good wage but another year behind Tarky, Branthwaite and O'Brien. Even a drop in form will not get him in the team. And assuming we buy a right back O'Brien will be moved inside
We have wasted money. Lots and lots of money. We've also been punished for our spending. The other clubs you mention have thrown far more money around, and for much longer, and, as yet, have not been punished.City and Chelsea seem to do okay. Our set up is a total waste of time and money.
It isn't and it will not be a waste of time in the future either. It hasn't been great recently granted, esoecially the fact that we haven't produced a centre half at least with some potential to replace MK. However, with the recent appointments in the academy set up, all eyes will be on the future by those with a vested interest in the success of the Youth Setup. Armstrong apart we naturally will not reap the rewards for a little while just yet, unless in the next season or two a standout player in the younger age groups shows signs they are ready for the 1st team setup or the Friedkins sanction buying in u19 or u23 players that are much closer to being 1st team ready.City and Chelsea seem to do okay. Our set up is a total waste of time and money.
There's no money involved signing kids. We just seem to sign the duds.We have wasted money. Lots and lots of money. We've also been punished for our spending. The other clubs you mention have thrown far more money around, and for much longer, and, as yet, have not been punished.
You really aren't comparing like with like.
