You keep saying 5th, who is 4th in this scenario if Keane is 5th? Coleman?NO ONE ELSE OF ANY CALIBRE IS COMING FOR FREE TO PLAY 4TH/5TH CHOICE

Again though, this just ignores the fact that the alternative to Keane is highly likely to be somebody just like Keane. If the choice is keep Keane or sign Marc Guehi then this a very strange move, if the choice is keep Keane or sign Craig Dawson then it isn’t. There’s no point acting as if having to play our 4th choice centre half is only a bad thing if it’s Michael Keane. The truth is it will be a bad thing regardless, because we’re nowhere near being a squad which has 4 top quality options in one position at a time.Branthwaite normally picks up an injury at some point and there’s no guarantee that Tarkowski comes back the same with a serious injury at his age.
Even at 4th choice, I’m sure Keane would end up getting game time at some point next season. That can’t be allowed to happen if we want to improve.
We can’t be keeping rubbish players just because it’s easy.
Time to find out if Welch has what it takes.Again though, this just ignores the fact that the alternative to Keane is highly likely to be somebody just like Keane. It is the obvious assumption we buy another covering defender - moyes loves a utility man!You keep saying 5th, who is 4th in this scenario if Keane is 5th? Coleman?

Honestly, they keep bleating about getting rid of keane, which in an ideal world we all want, but none can come up with a better alternative that is free, willing and occasionally able.Again though, this just ignores the fact that the alternative to Keane is highly likely to be somebody just like Keane. And you know this how? You telling me you'd prefer Keane than giving a youngster the chance to train with the first team?Spoiler - he doesn’t.

In which case why re-sign Keane? We won't need him.It is the obvious assumption we buy another covering defender - moyes loves a utility man!
Cos he would be happy to do nothing if needed and for quite a little amount. No one better is coming for that spot.In which case why re-sign Keane? We won't need him.
Seen yourself? Heard from who? You do realise that giving Keane another contract tells young talent that we are a non starter. The lad is 22 soon and hasn’t looked anywhere near the level required from what I’ve seen/heard.
You have absolutely no way of knowing that. It's hard to imagine how someone could come in and do worse. He really is terrible. There are also options between the price points of free and £30m. Although it does seem clear that we are hoping not to spend any real money on defenders. I'm less concerned about that at CB than I am at FB but I am concerned about what it means regarding our resources considering we need to add a minimum of eight players to this squad.Cos he would be happy to do nothing if needed and for quite a little amount. Edit - in an Ideal world,we would splurge 30 mil on a competing CB - we are not doing that I imagine
He's been at loan in the Belgian second division and in division 2 here. Thats a fair indication hes not premier league quality.Seen yourself? Heard from who? You do realise that giving Keane another contract tells young talent that we are a non starter.
Level required to train with the first team and come on to see out games against lower division teams in cup games? If he isn't that then why is he even at the club.
HAHA ffs, everything you say is just guess work - it is how it goes, we do not know what lies ahead!!You have absolutely no way of knowing that.
