The Club World Club

Funny watching the Inter Miami players who gave up in Europe and headed to Major League retirement because they're legs had gone getting a run around from the current best of Europe.

It's delightful.

The sheer hubris and hiding-in-plain-sight corrupt expedience of having these third-rate cloggers in the competition because of Messi is coming home to roost now, demonstrating that this is not a serious tournament and exposing the pathetic level of the MLS in the process. Win-win.

Sky Sports News trying to make themselves relevant by trying to make the Club World Cup relevant.

It's a bold strategy.

Of course Chelsea are happy. They are going to make 50+ million to fuel more spending. Klopp isn't wrong on this one for me.

Gap is just going to continue to open. We are already seeing clubs being pillaged of their better players by the elite already this summer. Bournemouth are about to lose 3 of their back 4.

Wouldn't surprise me either if the tournament found a way to sneak in certain clubs down the line as well.

All I’m seeing is the kimono being well and truly opened to show how grossly stupid and greedy the clubs that attended are about it all, the BBC using child maths to work out how much Chelsea have earned v their transfers incoming had provided me with much needed humour.

I knew modern footy was being dragged around like a corpse being told it’s vibrant and alive but that PSG v Inter Miami game was all you needed to see.

Fraudiola will be pleased, got a few pre season games in and made enough extra millions before getting dumped out to make the whole farce worthwhile for them.

Footy needs taking into the yard to get two in the head and one in what’s left of its heart - zombie footy, 28 years later stuff, put it out of its misery ffs.

Unfortunately Chelsea will probably win it and bag the several hundred million prize or whatever obscene amount it is, which will of course then allow them to continue splashing hundreds of millions on their squad.

I know what you're saying but PSG recently put 4 past Atletico Madrid and 5 past Inter Milan.

PSG are the clear faves but I really hope one of the Brazilian sides win it
I would too - normally - but this isn't a normal football tournament and the ideal outcome to strangle it at birth is for this expedient, contrived, corrupt exercise in political manipulation to have the winner it deserves: PSG. No romance, just cold-hearted head-chopping blood money on the floor.

A Brazilian winner would give this abomination the kiss of life it needs. PSG v Chelsea, please. With the winner on penalties after a bore no-score draw in 200 degree heat. Perfect.

It's here to stay. No going back now.

The vast amounts of money on offer for the clubs means it's staying. look at the silly things clubs did pre tournament like giving Liverpool £10m for a freebie player.

I've no issue with the tournament, hopefully it allows clubs from the rest of the world to level up against Europe.

replace PSG v Inter Miami with Man City v Al-Hilal and its even more obvious. Laughable tournament. If City cant beat a team who are literally fed gold coins for breakfast, what hope do they have of beating Peds FC next season?
