Yes

It is the right thing for him, his development has stalled and he seems to have some negative feelings towards the club. It's the right thing for the club as we need a fit striker who scores goals and his lack of availability has led to relegation scraps.

When all said and done he's been at Everton since he was a teenager, third highest PL scorer for us and scored in the derby last season which will probably forever be the favourite game I've been to see live - until we win a PL or trophy at Wembley. So when all is said done it's the right time to part ways but I hope the club gives a genuine heartfelt thank you to him.
Blaming him for the relegation scraps is a bit much considering the managers we have had in charge and the style of football they wanted to play.

I’m guessing it his fault we got point deductions as well?

In which he has serves us well, you could total wages up on most players in our team & they are bad value for money for instance to replace him it is going to be £30 million pius their wages - stupid valuation imo
You could replace 12 goals in 3 years for less than 30 million.

Wouldn't even mind but the poster has added on 20k a week for three years just to make his post about his wages suit his argument. Dom has been one of our best buys in years. 1.5m bought for 70 odd goals, don't see many people saying that
This is where I got my information, maybe this source wrong but I've not deliberately added 20K a week, it's the information I found on it.

Half of DCL’s career Everton goals came in 19-20 and 20-21. Seems like Ancelotti is the only manager who ever got a tune out of him. If he insists on getting overpaid I’m fine letting someone else do that, preferably a club I don’t like.
People keep saying this about his two high scoring seasons. But it ignores that fact that before that he was 21. Not many 21 year olds are scoring shed loads in the prem. Then the seasons after that he has had persistent injuries through poor management.

I think it’s time he leaves. Best for both parties. But I do think had he not been forced to play through injuries by Benitez and Lampard that his career trajectory would have been different.

Or somewhere abroad…

Do you honestly believe that. I dont. I think its excuse number 145 as to why he hasnt done anything. Its either players around him. Managers not playing his style. Injuries. He started 19 games last season and scored 3 goals. Beto started 15 and scored 8.
The real reason is he's pretty average and not a good finisher. When he's going through on goal how many Everton fans think he's going to finish. Not many.
If calvert lewin never had that 3 month purple patch in covid times this thread probably wouldnt even exist. He's dined out on that purple patch that was 5 years ago.
He'll score the odd good header and thats it. The rest of his game is nothing to write home about.
A centre forward who's stats are hardly scores and hardly assists.
Is it beyond the realms of possibility that he just isnt that good.

There are players have had there salary & sat out of the team mostly - being bitter & twisted about a player who has served the club better than most is ridiculous imo of your cringe worthy analysis of adding wages e.g. Deli Ali wages Keens wages Coleman wages ! Plus others -
DCL will leave us so be it wish him well!
Served? Seriously?

When he goes through on goal, one on one, I have very little faith in him finishing and this has been the case for far too long. He has some great facets to his game but ultimately, his currency is goals and he just doesn’t have the killer instinct needed.

The managers since Carlos were a function of how little money we had due to Morishi’s wild gamble on Carlos to kick us on which unfortunately coincided with Covid, while building a new stadium. Utterly wiped us out as a club. Only just recovering.

Could equally argue that Dunc was a bigger influence on him given how he developed in that time (strength, power, heading).
Lost his hunger, energy and enthusiasm when Dunc left, and his confidence died with each injury, and the lack of chances.
