I like and rate him, always have done.

But his card is marked now by a decent amount of our fans, once you get to hat point you don't come back from it so he may as well move on for both him and the club.

If he’d scored more than 13 non penalty goals in his last 106 games then maybe more people would rate him, I dunno, I think that’s how it works.

I think the animosity for him is massively OTT. He was seemingly terminally unlucky.. Perhaps he performed best under Carlo & he never seemed to reach those heights again..

He scored some goals, but not enough…

He played, but not enough..

We liked him, but not enough

Like a bad relationship, it’s best for both parties we move on..

One of the best signings of the last few years. It's a shame injuries have ruined the last few seasons.

If you want a big fast lump who is great in the air and battling against defenders he is one of the better ones in the Premier League.

An almost identical record to Duncan Ferguson.

The stick he gets is motivated by more than just his ability. Look at the strikers he has seen off in his time here.

A fresh start will do him good. It's a shame as I reckon Moyes would have made him a force again.

Why do people keeping throwing words like 'animosity' and 'hatred' around? It's a very strange stance to take. I don't see any real animosity, just a load of people who think he's a busted flush.

Loads of players we have now are viewed by some as not good enough, it seems you can't say that about Dom though, because it's somehow mean. I have no more animosity towards him than I do towards Jack Harrison, Michael Keane, Cuco Martina or Aiden Mcgeady. He's just another player I don't think is good enough. He's not the first, and he won't be the last. 'Animosity'

Made no bones that I’m a fan but it’s absolutely the right time for DCL to go, things have been fractured since the booing incident at Villa when he go the facial injury and the lack of goals when fit haven’t helped. He and the club need the fresh start

That said for the £1.25m we paid in 2016, he has been one of our better value for money signings

He scored vital goals - buy us another in his pomp for £ 1/2 a million?
120 K a week. In the past 3 years he's earned over 18 Million and scored 12 goals.. That is an horrific return for any striker 12 goals in 3 years, it's indefensible regardless of how much he cost.

In which he has serves us well, you could total wages up on most players in our team & they are bad value for money for instance to replace him it is going to be £30 million pius their wages - stupid valuation imo

I realise that it is going to be costly to replace him but I think it is something we need to do if we are going to improve in any sort of meaningful way. He doesn’t score enough goals and he doesn’t bring others into scoring positions. Add to that he now appears injury prone and I don’t believe we can rely on him to lead the line in a team looking to press for European football. We need a new centre forward and he needs a new challenge. It is a shame that his contract has run down and we can’t get a fee for him but we have to take that one on the chin.
