Glastonbury 2025

I've seen some mad Glastonbury discourse this year already, moreso than years before, all because a very popular pop rock band headlined the Pyramid stage last night haha  🤷‍♂️

I don’t think it’s mad. Or about being old. Glastonbury does attract people who lean more towards alternative music rather than commercial. I’m almost 48 but I love plenty of pop or pop/rock music and that bands success makes no sense to me. There’s other bands I don’t like but I know why they are popular. These guys sound like they’ve used AI to generate music and it doesn’t come off very genuine IMHO. Plus the guy seems like a prize pillock.

I don’t reckon it’s mad at all they are being treated with derision, seems the natural reaction to me at such a festival. IKEA PopRock

Be a bonus if can watch Young. Even a Neil Young at half the power would be a great antidote to most of what’s on offer.

Think there’s lots of great stuff in the lineup but my nephew and brother sent me videos of his show in Dublin and he looked on the ball performance wise, decent set list too. The only thing he’s not the big artist like Elton or Bruce who are gonna give the crowd what they want or do something extra for the occasion. He’ll do exactly what he wants, and you take or leave it. I’ve been lucky to see him 3 times and to meet him and crazy horse backstage about 25yr ago (perks of managing in HMV at the time). A genuine maverick

I think over the past 10 years maybe this has changed. It’s leans more into catering for pop music and crap like the 1975, Dua Lipa, Lewis Capaldi etc. Didn’t Ed Sheeran and Adele headline a few years back. I mean what’s that about. Just tuned it on and there’s someone on called Myles Smith. It’s comically bad. If I’m out of tune with what music is nowadays then thank god.

Amen to artists who do that. Don’t give people what they want. Do the opposite.

Fogerty, Young and Kneecap are practically the only performers to catch at this Glastonbury...and the BBC scum are depriving anyone not there of seeing one of them live...and will proscribe what coverage - if any at all - they'll show of Kneecap.

The country's gone to hell in a handcart when censorship like this happens.

That coward Starmer and the BBC are 💩 scared about handing Reform something to rally around.
