New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Is it pessimistic or realistic?

Anfield, a bigger much more iconic stadium belonging to a club uefa fawn over would obviously have been preferred if it was eligible. The location doesn't really hold any weight given they can pull in Bruce Springsteen, Elton John and Dua Lipa every year.

Nah. It's not a waterfront stadium, modern facilities and a huge fanzone which is what UEFA want.

You reckon Bruce Springsteen purposely wanted to play there? Never mind Dua Lipa.

Also the staff who work at anfield in the hospitality are jumping ship to work at Hill Dickinson. Better pay and facilities.

Think we’re all familiar with this fella, he’s not even a Blue but a Palace fan but he’s picked this to make his point.

Can’t help but feel incredible sadness knowing we’ll never experience that at Goodison ever again, and that stings.

We all hope and pray the new place will have its own great memories and moments similar to this, but can it possibly ever replicate that Goodison mayhem? It’s obviously a wait and see job but I have my doubts at the moment. Hope I’m wrong.

I get the worry over this but take us lot out of Goodison and it don't make any noise by itself.
Same people, same passion, same noise, same limbs. Just a different house to make the racket in.

I have a feeling people will be genuinely blown away when they hear the noise the new place will boom out.

I really do not think uefa (or people at large) give a toss about a waterfront stadium tbh. It's nice for us but Uefas primary concern is money and status. If they get given the option to have one of the 5 most famous stadia in europe, they'd have jumped at it.

As for the singers they're not being held at gun point, they keep choosing to play there when newer more modern stadiums with better hospitality such as the Etihad are available. It's clearly a very attractive venue for 3rd parties for whatever reason and I'm not sure why you're pretending otherwise when it's won almost every superstar contract for the northwest in the past 3 years. BMD might end up a better venue than it for performers but that will remain to be seen until next summer

Some acts will play Liverpool and Manchester, so the Etihad suggestion doesn’t justify it being a preference for Anfield. Whilst you do mention the Etihad, which stadium has held more concerts in Manchester in recent years the modern stadium with decent facilities with a modest 50k ish capacity or the old knackered iconic stadium with a 70k ish capacity?

There are lots of facilities in Liverpool's 2 new stands. 3 times more boxes, more hospitality/corporate seats, more lounge space overall and a higher capacity generally.

In Euros 96, Stanley Park was turned into a fanzone, now one end of the stadium sits in the Park with fuller access.... and it's many times the size of our fanzone.

That's before you get into the international draw of Anfield itself.

So, I think it is far from a certainty that BMD would've been selected.

It will be interesting if this continues in the same vein, or BMD can attract some or all of the largest artists, due to the proximity to the city centre.

The stadium design should also play a part because I know it (being able to easily adapt to concerts etc.) has been a part of the design package.

I hope so,the 2 massive screens should be a selling point over anfield. As would the newer hospitality. I'd imagine the stage end would have to be down at the tiny North end or else you'd be losing over 13k capacity if it was south. The skee whiff proportions could be in our favour in that sense.

As they have the stage at the AR end and the disproportionate size of the main stand they are losing a lot of seats over what we would, with the stage being our smallest end. (it would be at the north as that's where the vehicular access is)

The capacities for a concert should therefore be quite similar.

Each to their own. I know for a fact it's a favourable stadium over anfield.

really glad we’re having a legends game but is two exhibition matches in one day just a bit too much?

rather the legends game was early july or an international break

I think I'll settle watch some of that and so will a lot of others save battling through the congestion getting out after the friendly. Plus I think there will be a bar open and I'm not driving. Hmmmm, can't wait to see the line ups, Rooney, Baines Ferguson..
