New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I just wish we’d redeveloped Goodison but not changed it at all so everything was exactly the same but obviously not the same because it was twice the size and with ten times the corporate offering but literally exactly the same with no changes at all to the original architecture apart from all the changes we had to make to do what I’m talking about does nobody feel like that?

I do too but also the dispersal rates and making sure the average attendance over the last century reflects the capacity.

Tom Tom Tom, it's not just the capacity. It's state of the art stadium in an iconic location with facilities they will never have.

Such a shame you believe that. Maybe obsess over something that doesn't depress you so much?

No idea what you're on about. I haven't said I "believe" in anything. Nor am I obsessed or depressed, thanks.

Think we’re all familiar with this fella, he’s not even a Blue but a Palace fan but he’s picked this to make his point.

Can’t help but feel incredible sadness knowing we’ll never experience that at Goodison ever again, and that stings.

We all hope and pray the new place will have its own great memories and moments similar to this, but can it possibly ever replicate that Goodison mayhem? It’s obviously a wait and see job but I have my doubts at the moment. Hope I’m wrong.

Here’s a thought, enjoy our new home, if we become successful, maybe, just maybe our owners will want to expand.
In the meantime, it’s 52k and absolutely fantastic.

On the banks of the royal blue Mersey
Spot on mate.

Whilst I know this thread doesn't truly represent the thoughts of the wider fan base, it does highlight some ingrained negativity in our fan base.

I cannot wait now to experience a full attendance, to find my Everton Way stone and just make it our home.

Yes, I get that thanks, you might see I mentioned the ratio of accessible fans to carers is 1:1 in this arrangement.

The risers are 750mm deep I believe so there appears to be 3m for manoeuvring a wheelchair or whatever accessibility aid a fan would need.
All I’m saying is could that be 2m25cm and allow and extra row for additional family members etc. In fact the seats fold up so you wouldn’t even lose 75cm for manoeuvring.

The Disability's Act 2010 specifies 150x150 for a standard wheelchair turning circle.
And before my mate comes steaming in foaming at the mouth,I am not suggesting only providing the minimum legal requirements

The seats given for the accompanying guest are in-between the 1st and 2nd rows which would cut down the turning size to under 2m.

That said, there was nothing stopping the club from removing the perimeter fencing in those sections, allow the slab to go a bit further out, move the seats forward a little so they are in line with the front, which then should allow the same 3m for moveability, whilst having another load of seats on that 4th row.

Tbh, all that really tells us is that Anfield isnt eligible for the Euros (on pitch size). If it was, would BMD have been chosen ahead of the larger Anfield, with more boxes and corporate etc? I'm not so sure.

That's some pessimistic stuff there pal.

Is it pessimistic or realistic?

Anfield, a bigger much more iconic stadium belonging to a club uefa fawn over would obviously have been preferred if it was eligible. The location doesn't really hold any weight given they can pull in Bruce Springsteen, Elton John and Dua Lipa every year.

It will be interesting if this continues in the same vein, or BMD can attract some or all of the largest artists, due to the proximity to the city centre.

The stadium design should also play a part because I know it (being able to easily adapt to concerts etc.) has been a part of the design package.

Ten years ago I was diagnosed with a blood cancer, Myeloma, that caused catastrophic spinal and wider bone damage. I needed surgery alongside my chemotherapy, spent four months bed bound and had to learn to walk again. I spent the best part of a year needing to use a wheelchair. My experience is that you simply cannot have too much dedicated space in a crowded area like a stadium and you absolutely need access to ramp exits and lifts without having to battle through even a handful of able bodied fans.

It was a deeply humbling experience and one I am glad I no longer have to endure. Many others are not so fortunate. If Everton has erred on this, and I don’t think they have, then in my view they have done so in the right way.

The best way to put it to the test is a last minute winner, under the lights, with that steep rake, limbs everywhere, ending up 16 rows below where you started! 😀 that will be the litmus test, can’t wait for the absolute carnage.

I hope so,the 2 massive screens should be a selling point over anfield. As would the newer hospitality. I'd imagine the stage end would have to be down at the tiny North end or else you'd be losing over 13k capacity if it was south. The skee whiff proportions could be in our favour in that sense.
