New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I'm aware, is that not what I said?

Regardles of were the accessible seating is, the stand is more single tier then our stand which prevents you accessing the 'upper'.

Spurs has no 'upper' its one stand per say.
i do agree more spaced out is much better.

Never liked disabled space only being at the front, when they changed Goodison and moved them to the middle of supporters etc makes people feel more included in the crowd.

I like how Arsenal and Wembley did them, in the middle of the fans, no issues with people standing in front and felt like actually in with your own fans rather than isolated at the front.

no i wont. I will stand up to anyone who belittles and moans about disabled spaces. Went with my dad who used a wheelchair for more than 10 years with our season ticket, ytou have zero idea what its like.

if your only response is "calm down Karen" you already lost the argument.

No one is belittling pal, you're overreacting calm down, someone has an opinion different than yours that's all.

im honestly not over reacting, fed up of some fans always complaining that disabled fans have too much space and why cant there be more seats put in.

I get we are upset the capacity isnt enough, but this isnt the right way to go about it. It happened during the build and i defended it then and i will defend it now

Still baffled how much space is taken by the disabled zones.
They’re 4 rows deep by the looks of it.
Surely they can stick a row along the back wall, if only to facilitate wheelchair users being able to visit with larger groups than a single carer.

If it’s due to regulations then fair enough but they look huge spaces, but this one alone looks like it would add 28 seats.
Yeah bit of an arsey comment this. I can’t even park my car with my little boy without someone blocking me meaning I can never get him back in without reserving my car first. I dread to think what these people go through. Count your blessings mate.

I understand what you're saying and to be fair you put it across a lot better to me I thought. But the original poster mentioned the disabled fans will have more room for family and friends in their section. So maybe a better idea is if it could be for family and friends of the disabled folk only.

that the best you do to eh? no arugement sao you resort to this? thanks I won. goodbye
Congrats you, deserve it.

Which bit is arsey pal?

FWIW in my opinion the club should be applauded for the accessibility they have built in to the stadium.
That doesn’t preclude me making an observation on what looks, to me, to be a very large space. A space with a row along the back, in my guesstimated opinion, would still provide plenty of room for folk in wheelchairs etc.
If it’s a regulations based design (which I’ve already said) then fair enough. Equally if when physically in the space it’s appropriately sized for ease of access- also fair enough.

That's what the original plans were, so i'm unsure why they went against them. I assume they consulted with fans groups as its a massive change.

I get having a mixture of options, but yeah, imo its not been implemented well -from a visual stance- its all overly segregated and split the stands. Then as you've rightly said, not only is it splitting the stands, but it isolates aswell.

I'll say again, at the very least paint all the concrete blue Everton - make it feel like one stand.

The reason the spacing seems generous is to accommodate wheelchairs the seats are for carers or assistants only

Yes, I get that thanks, you might see I mentioned the ratio of accessible fans to carers is 1:1 in this arrangement.

The risers are 750mm deep I believe so there appears to be 3m for manoeuvring a wheelchair or whatever accessibility aid a fan would need.
All I’m saying is could that be 2m25cm and allow and extra row for additional family members etc. In fact the seats fold up so you wouldn’t even lose 75cm for manoeuvring.

The Disability's Act 2010 specifies 150x150 for a standard wheelchair turning circle.
And before my mate comes steaming in foaming at the mouth,I am not suggesting only providing the minimum legal requirements

Tbh, all that really tells us is that Anfield isnt eligible for the Euros (on pitch size). If it was, would BMD have been chosen ahead of the larger Anfield, with more boxes and corporate etc? I'm not so sure.

Tom Tom Tom, it's not just the capacity. It's state of the art stadium in an iconic location with facilities they will never have.

Such a shame you believe that. Maybe obsess over something that doesn't depress you so much?

As someone who’s still sad over leaving Goodison, the more we get closer to the first game I am just thinking how [Poor language removed] it is with regards to the getting to the ground and getting away from it and how it’s basically become a mess, Also still gutted over the fact I have sat next to people for a minimum of ten years, got to know people around me and have to start a fresh.

Just all feels meh. Touch wood once I go a few times it feels good.
