Beer, revisited

Only just noticed that the Black Lodge brewery from Liverpool has a brewery tap in West Kirby. Made me miss two buses ; apparently it's been open 18 months and I was oblivious to it. They had various gubbins on, I had :

It was very, very nice.

During my perambulations I also forced myself to have : Peerless Lone Rider and Liitle Eye and this, a brewery which I haven't come across before. A nice solid bitter, with undertones of something which I couldn't quite recognise - forced to have another but alas, still none the wiser. A session ale but there's no shame in that, extremely tasty and drinkable.

Has anyone got one of those Perfect Draft things and are they any good? More specifically, i have seen you can get a mini keg thing of Tripel Karmeliet for them, does it come out tasting as nice as it does from the big 750ml bottles?

I`ve used the mini casks of various real ales before and they`re good, as long as you use all of the ale pretty quickly.

Only ever used them for real ales though.

Perhaps a bit anathema, but lately I've been drinking these NA-brews along with alcoholic brews. A few of our local breweries sell them along with their own brews, so I can alternate between them during extended sittings. The Free Wave and the Run Wild are great. These guys did their homework and have managed to assemble some great NA beers.

I was delighted to find this on, haven't had it in ages. It's funny, the memories that beer can evoke so many memories, very warm and fuzzy. :) All beers under 4%, taste sometimes beats strength.

For a pale ale, this was incredibly creamy, the sort of pint where the first sip is a third of a pint.

I also had this, nice, tasty and like a bag of chips at the end of the night.

You don`t often see Wherry around here, where was it ?

That Salopian Gold is like nectar when it`s looked after.
