USMNT - The Pochettino era

It's starting to look better, but first "test" is against Costa Rica. Who they should beat handily, but is a much better squad than they've face thus far.

Still hate the RB or CM sitting deep in a back 3, but at least Tolkin was much more effective on the left than Arfsten.

I like Luna, the effort is there, at times he looks a bit slow, I'm not sure he's physically good enough for this level.

The US men's national team has potential to be a solid force in the world stage. Unfortunately, soccer is still a growing sport in USA even in 2025. The youth as they get older would rather play a more popular sport in HS. There are those committed players who usually come from immigrant backgrounds that stick with soccer. The problem is also the youth club infrastructure which is pay to play and it is hella $$$

There is a lot talent in the current generation but I feel like there is a lack of identity of culture within the national side. The USMNT always plays strong against CONCACAF teams. But when it has to face European or South American teams they look subpar or can barely hang.

It just goes to show that USA is not the best at everything. (the women's soccer team is an exception)

What was the prompt you put in that chat bot mate?

I like some of the changes but Afsten for Tolkin makes no sense.

We’ll see how they set up but if Freenman is an auxiliary CB in the build up I have to question the direction of the program. It’s not as if you’re making Dest a CB in attack (or Robinson on the other flank).

Just a bad decision. Arfsten isn’t up to it.

(Yes I know I’m talking to myself)
