How is that leaving history behind then?Let's leave history behind, and create a new badge...based on the history of the region.

We tried that and it went down like a fart in a lift.
I have been thinking about the crest which you posted as an option which the club could use in the future.
As indicated in a previous post, I love the 1920s crest (image attached). Whilst it may seem a stretch, I would like to see the EFC lettering from the 1920s crest included on the one which you have posted. It may look off, but it would combine different features of my favourite crests.
Exactly. On the one hand you espouse leaving history behind for a fresh start. On the other hand your 'fresh start' is desperately trying to tie us to another part of history. How is that leaving history behind then?
It'll never fly...not in this day and age.Let's leave history behind, and create a new badge...based on the history of the region.
Minor correction. That's not a break with the past.
How about leaving the tower stuff behind and having a ship on the new badge?
After all, we're on the river now and z-cars is the tune of the sea shanty the Johnny Todd.
The last time Everton played in Everton was...erm...never, so why have we git that beacon on the badge?
Yes, one that's relevant to our new home.Exactly. On the one hand you espouse leaving history behind for a fresh start. On the other hand your 'fresh start' is desperately trying to tie us to another part of history.
On this occasion he is actually right , it is a season shanty. Adopted by LiverpoolMinor correction.
‘Johnny Todd ‘ isn’t a sea shanty , it’s a folk song that was peculiar to Liverpool .
Sea Shanties are work songs that evolved from the call and reply songs sung by African sailors and dock workers in the colonies .
Carry on !![]()
Actually the excerpt you posted above labels it as a ‘Sea Ballad ‘ which is quite different to a ‘Sea Shanty’.On this occasion he is actually right , it is a season shanty. Adopted by LiverpoolView attachment 314181 schoolchildren as a play ground game.
Thus etched into Liverpool folklore.
Read the lyrics from Bob Dylans track.

For the record it stays with the club for me wherever we go.
I agree. It'll never fly...not in this day and age.
Our fanbase would go nuclear
Our fans bullied a manager into redecorating his Christmas tree.I agree.
Can you imagine the fume if our American owners came out and annonced changing the badge / crest.
The fanbase would go into meltdown.
