Transfer Rumour Kenny Tete

The England flag in the link YOU posted is to denote missed England games. Note the lack of Dutch flag in the same link for Tete. Maybe just quit while you're absolutely miles behind for once Mike.

Fair enough. That’s dead weird because he’s played once for England and Tete has played 14 times for the Netherlands so I don’t really get that one. I won’t be using Transfermarkt for my stats ever again.

Branthwaite still did miss the entirety of pre-season last year and going off days injured he’s on 138 with Tete on 113.

For me, availability for games is a much more relevant thing to look at and as I said, Tete missed almost double the amount of league games. Having said that, patterns are also important, and if Branthwaite misses 10 games this year then you're definitely going to start hearing the 'at what point does this become an issue' conversations, which Tete is already at because his injury record over the past 4/5 years isn't great.

As I said initially, it's not necessarily a massive deal or whatever, but it's definitely worthy of comment. When we're sat here in January saying 'I can't believe we've got Coleman and Keane playing in 2026' it will probably hit home a bit more.

Think if anything he'll at least fill the amount of games that Coleman & Young played at RB last season.

He ended Fulham's season fit and their starting RB, so I'm figuring that Moyes et al will be hopeful that he'll carry that straight into the new season.

Mate, their first choice keeper misses a handful of important games every season.

And he’s really the only one. Keita had a bad time of it perhaps also, and maybe Jota is in and out. The rest of their key players though turn out most games and the ones they miss are only knocks keeping them out a few games. They had the one big blow out for Van Dijk but that’s been it. Salah Mane Firmino Trent Robertson all their midfielders. More often than not they’re always available.

Meanwhile read Bolasie Gbamin Tosun Gomes Mangala (both players with that surname managed to do an ACL with us whilst on loan), Dele, DCL, Mina, Godfrey

Everton just cannot keep their top players on the pitch at the same time all together. It’s going to be one of the first jobs for Cox when he arrives is looking at why our injury record is so consistently poor.

A first team player from a team that finished above us in the league on a free transfer when we only have a squad of 14 players.

And this is apparently a bad thing?
If he is a crock =yes injury list - Enjoyed watching Tete at his best, and when fit, his one-on-one

Wow, I forgot about the 1st Mangala to play for us and had to google....

This paragraph now makes me realise why I had forgotten about him:

Everton signed Manchester City's back-up centre-half, Eliaquim Mangala, on loan until the end of the 2017-18 season in January 2018. The Frenchman was unveiled late on transfer deadline day as the club's third signing of that window following the arrivals of Cenk Tosun and Theo Walcott.

Bad times....

He had one full game and was absolutely dreadful

Bad, bad times

Injury concerns but still seems to play a fair bit so hardly like he's a Broja-esque crock, and seems a clear improvement on the other "natural" RB options we have for all JOB did well filling in there.

It's not revolutionary but on a free, it's the sort of sensible signing we've failed to make for many many years.

Blew his ligaments with us, as did his namesake, both only on loan with us. As did Tosun, as did Bolasie, as did Besic, as did Gbamin, as did Gomes….

Decent defender but his injury record is definitely a concern. Pretty much every season and there is no reason to believe that his time at Everton would be any different. Probably worse given our luck with injuries. I would look elsewhere tbh.

Think both Patterson and Coleman have been out injured far more than this the past few years so I can’t say I’m too worried. If he gives us 20+ games a season it could be a cracking signing on a free.
