The game is still alive, but the England bowling is very average. No one can hold a line and length and far too many fired down leg side. They need to find a bowler from somewhere very soon before the ashes.

Admittedly, I haven't taken too keen an interest in country cricket over the past two or three years, so I am not personally too clued-up on the upcoming bowlers.

My mates, who do follow it pretty religiously, said there's not many who either have the speed or the form to look like they'll be challenging at the top level.

I just saw Archer made runs for Sussex today so maybe he's close to fitness. If you could even have him for 3 tests that makes a big difference.
