Transfer Rumour Kenny Tete

No idea if he’s any good or not, never stood out when I’ve watched him, but that can be good or bad. Proven PL right back for free, much rather that than a foreign player I’ve never heard of who costs money. Hopefully frees up money for a better CF.

I remember this bloke being like an 85 potential prospect back when I played fifa which is probably pushing 10-12 years ago. He must be old now.

Barely available. Surprised at Moyes for that. He likes to prioritise availability.

He's a good player who Ive posted about in the past (Lyon).

However, he's also been someone Ive not wanted us to sign for the past few seasons.

His injury record is brutal and a 3 year deal for an injury prone player is bewildering.

Didnt Moyes say he was prioritising "robust players who could play most games" or something similar?

On the one hand a good player for free...

...on the other hand an injury prone player on a 3 year deal.

Generally a good addition, still an age to play a few good seasons, played all positions in the back 4 in his career for more than 10 games and doesn't disrupt the wage structure like Walker surely would.

If he's on c.£60-65k pw over the course of the contract its not a major financial drain on a free either way.

Given his ability I think its worth the punt, even if he's only available for 2/3rds of the season and I value availability myself.

Mate is a Fulham fan, said we will struggle to find fan's who speak bad about Tete. As a player he said he is super aggressive, always gives 100%, good on the ball and great defensively.
Some genuine disappointment from lots of their fans that he is going. Presume they offered him something but he wanted more. Maybe the wages are very sensible but 3 years security sealed it.

Doesn’t need to play 38 games. If Tarks and JB are in form, then we will def need to keep O’Brien ticking over.

He is a very good 1v1, committed defender. If we are delaying signing a more youthful attacking RB this summer til other holes have been filled, hopefully it means we will get a selfish, tricky and speedy RW that doesn’t have to run 75km a week covering in defence, rather than another “hard worker”.

At least he doesn't seem to have just one repetitive injury weakness....his whole body seems injury prone

If he was injury free then we wouldnt have a chance of getting him.

Thats the risk.

I'm a bit surprised given moyes comments on how we'll have players who can get onto the pitch etc etc

Didn't know this.

Probably tells me either Patto or JOB will be first choice.
